Cookie Policy

Last Updated: March 12, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Softelyx School (operated by Softelyx Education GmbH) uses cookies and similar technologies on this website. It supplements our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle personal data more broadly.

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site function, remember preferences, and (when permitted) measure performance and support advertising attribution. In addition to cookies, similar technologies may be used, such as pixel tags and server-side event forwarding. These technologies can collect or transmit information like page views, conversion events, and device/browser identifiers.

Types of cookies

Cookies can be classified in a few common ways:

  • Session cookies last only while your browser session is open and typically expire when you close the browser.
  • Persistent cookies remain on your device until they expire or you delete them.
  • First-party cookies are set by this website’s domain.
  • Third-party cookies are set by other domains whose services may be embedded or used for measurement/advertising.

Not all cookies are strictly necessary for the website to work. Where required by law (for example, in the EEA and UK), we ask for consent before activating non-essential cookies such as analytics and marketing.

Cookie categories we use

1) Essential cookies (always on)

Essential cookies are required for core site functionality and security. They help the site load correctly, maintain basic session continuity, and remember your cookie preferences. These cookies do not require consent.

Examples of essential purposes include maintaining a session identifier, storing a cookie consent record, and supporting basic security measures (such as protecting forms against abuse).

2) Analytics cookies (consent required)

Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors use the site. We use analytics to measure page performance, identify which pages are helpful, and improve course and webinar information pages over time.

When enabled, analytics may use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) configured to reduce unnecessary data collection, including IP anonymization where applicable. Analytics data is used in aggregate and is not intended to identify you directly.

3) Marketing cookies (consent required)

Marketing cookies are used to measure advertising performance and support remarketing. They can help us understand which ads led to actions like submitting an enrollment request, and they may allow ad platforms to build audiences for showing relevant ads.

When enabled, marketing cookies may be used by providers such as Google and Meta. Depending on configuration, conversion events may also be sent server-side (for example, via a conversion API) to improve attribution reliability and reduce cookie dependence.

Cookie table

The table below lists the main cookies associated with our essential, analytics, and marketing categories. Some cookies may be present only when the relevant features are enabled and consent has been granted.

Name Purpose Category Type Retention
_site_session Site session continuity Essential First-party Session
cookie_consent Stores your consent choice Essential First-party 12 months
_ga GA4 user identifier Analytics Third-party 2 years
_ga_XXXXXXXXXX GA4 session state (10-char GA4 ID) Analytics Third-party 2 years
_gcl_au Google Ads conversion linker Marketing Third-party 90 days
_fbp Meta Pixel browser identifier Marketing Third-party 90 days
_fbc Meta Pixel click identifier Marketing Third-party 90 days

Note: Cookie names and retention can change if providers update their products or if we adjust configuration. We aim to keep this table accurate and will update it when changes are material.

Third-party providers

When analytics or marketing cookies are enabled by consent, we may use the following providers:

  • Google LLC (Google Analytics 4, Google Ads, and related measurement tools)
  • Meta Platforms (Meta Pixel and related advertising measurement tools)
  • Cloudflare (security and performance services that may process IP-based signals for threat detection)

We do not permit these providers to use site data for their own independent commercial purposes. Their processing is governed by their terms and privacy documentation.

How to manage cookies

You can manage cookie preferences at any time by using the “Manage cookie preferences” link in the site footer. This opens the cookie controls where you can enable or disable analytics and marketing cookies.

You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to delete existing cookies and block cookies in general or per-site. Blocking essential cookies may affect site functionality.

If you choose to withdraw consent, we will stop using the relevant optional cookies and will delete certain identifiers when feasible. Withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred before you changed your settings.
